Industrial Zone-Pleven successfully implemented project
“Industrial Zone–Pleven” Ltd. has successfully implemented a project under Contract No. BG-RRP-4.032-0169-C01 for the provision of non-repayable financial assistance under procedure BG-RRP-4.032 “Support for new capacities for electricity generation from renewable sources and electricity storage with an installed capacity from 200 kW to 2 MW (Call 1)”.
The main objective of the investment proposal is to increase the share of clean energy in Bulgaria’s energy mix on the path to climate neutrality by providing support for the construction and integration into the electricity grid of new additional 4,997.745 kWp renewable energy generation capacities (RES), together with 2 MW of local electricity storage facilities (LES).
Specific objectives:
- Ensuring the rapid deployment of new renewable capacities with variable output, equipped with local energy storage facilities.
- Reducing issues related to grid congestion, balancing of the electricity system, and market distortions.
- Providing storage capacity for the electricity generated from renewable sources.
- Compliance with the “Do No Significant Harm” principle (2021/C58/01 within the meaning of Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2020/852).
The main activity is the construction of a combined project for new installed capacity for electricity generation from solar energy and for local electricity storage facilities.
As a result of the project implementation, a reduction in annual carbon emissions from the electricity generation sector will be achieved, along with an increase in the share of electricity from renewable sources and the integration of RES generation capacities into the grid while ensuring the security and stability of the electricity system.
Total project value: EUR 693,311.80, of which EUR 346,655.90 is European funding from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
